It is usually handed over to the guests at the entrance by ushers or it can be arranged neatly in a basket at the entrance of the church for the guests to take them as they enter.

A wedding ceremony program serves as a very significant and practical reason of giving the guests a basic idea of the order of the wedding events. It provides various details that unfold at the day of the wedding ceremony. It also serves as a lovely souvenir of the most important events of the wedding ceremony. You can also make a simple, elegant and cost-effective one. A sample wedding ceremony program would help you plan and design the wedding ceremony program efficiently.

A sample wedding ceremony program guarantees the provision of the perfect details of the location and time of the various programs that will take place at the wedding ceremony to the prospective guests. It basically elaborates the nature of the event and incorporates several small events that are going to happen on that day.

Preparing a wedding ceremony program is somewhat easy and consists mainly of preparing listing of events in order for the forth coming event. But there are certain intricacies that go inside while preparing an excellent one. There are many available styles and ways of choosing wordings for writing wedding invitations. One has to choose the right pattern and set of words that would best match their wedding ceremony. This is where the sample wedding ceremony program would help, providing details of the basic guidelines into which the individual events can be incorporated.

The sample wedding ceremony program usually is divided into three basic sections. They are the introduction part, the event order part, and the acknowledgment part. The details that are provided in the Sample Wedding Ceremony Program are only basic guidelines to design a wedding program and are subjective to change according to the personal preferences and wedding ceremonies.

The introduction part of the sample ceremony program contains the full names of the bride and the bridegroom, wedding date and location. The step-by-step description serves as a guideline to the wedding ceremony from processional to recessional. There will be space to include special customs or traditions that will take place at the ceremony.

The last section of the wedding ceremony program contains the lists of the wedding party. It elaborates the relations of the bride and the bridegroom. Apart from these other items can also be included like thank you note, memorials of the deceased ones, etc. Thus a Sample Wedding Ceremony Program would be useful to make wedding ceremony program special and memorable.

5 Tips to Setting Recording Levels For Music Production - Cubase LE, Cubase SX and VST Plugins

Program To Make Music :

Recording levels are of the utmost importance when you are producing your music. This pertains to the level for the racks or the mixes. There has always been a common answer for this being to set the level at max just below the digital zero. Referring to the top of the meter. Unfortunately, many of the experts will most likely tell you this is wrong.

5 Tips to Setting Recording Levels For Music Production - Cubase LE, Cubase SX and VST Plugins

One of the things you may want to keep in mind with this industry is not to believe everything you hear. (No pun intended). There are those in the industry that will tell you anything in order to get you to buy their wares. Anyone that has been in the computer music realm will tell you that digital audio has just gotten to the point where sound quality is acceptable.

Remember one basic factor about your quest of composing music and that is the purpose of recording sound. Which is of course so we can listen and enjoy it. You need to learn and be able to determine what parts of the music must be louder than others. For example, a pop ballad should be lower on track than a thrash metal. A guitar solo should be above the normal background playing.

Your first inclination may be to use only your digital meters and record these separately. On the surface, it sounds logical, but in fact, you could end up with the very opposite results. Reason being the digital recorders use peak meters, whereas music listeners use their hearing meaning they utilize average characteristics when judging the levels. If not done correctly then it means the listener will be forced to turn the volume down.

You can prevent your frustrations if you just record everything at the proper levels right from the start. It would be right to share one track between two instruments at least. This should only be done when the two specific instruments are not playing at the same time. So you would record these instruments at the correct level that they would be at when physically playing the song. Use your estimation qualities to get the results that are right. You want to hear what the end listeners should here. They won't be using meters they will be using their natural ability of hearing.

Stay consistent with your entire album, if the listener has to keep getting up to adjust the volume you can bet they won't be too impressed.

If you try and do your sound recordings according to all the information that various people give you then you will soon become discouraged. What may work in one song will certainly not work in another. Then there will be all the controversy to sort though. Learn the basics, follow your judgment and trust your ears. Composing music is suppose to be an enjoyable event even if its your livelihood, if you didn't have passion for music its unlikely you would even be involved in computer music.

Be Well-Seasoned in Your Life

Program To Make Music :

I've loved food my whole life. I love buying groceries, looking at weekly flyers and taste testing new recipes. I love restaurants and invitations to friends' for dinner and eating at home. I love lunch and dinner but mostly I love snacks. Ice cream cones, cookies, cheese cake, pies, rice pudding, chocolate covered almonds, muffins, O Henry bars... Yes, I love food ... and the Food Channel. The trouble is that every show seems to feature a chef who loads their recipes with everything that my doctors (and common sense) warn me against - like sugar, butter, salt and various types of cream.

Be Well-Seasoned in Your Life

One of the things that I have learned about cooking from the Food Channel though is the importance of seasonings. Frequently the host of the program uses home-grown vegetables, spices and herbs to give flavour to their cuisine. Garlic, onions, rosemary, thyme, lemon, or cilantro are added to the bland to bring life and interest for the diner. The term "season" has a number of meanings. We offer "season's greetings" at Christmas, think of the changing seasons and even describe someone who is experienced as being "well-seasoned". My friend, Carla, sent me an electronic birthday card this year that featured jazzy music, flashing graphics and a food theme. It suggested that we should "be well seasoned", "peppery", "salt of the earth" and not bland or lumpy. It even went so far as to recommend that we "Don't turn into comfort food - easily managed and twice as tasteless".

Sometimes people in our lives or our experiences change our true essence through criticism or unrealistic demands. Frequently my clients tell me that they just don't know themselves anymore or are tired of trying to live up to everyone's expectations. They have lost their seasoning and don't seem to think they can recover until they leave home, finalize a divorce, or move to a different job or city. Seasoning has to be done in a way that enhances the result but taste is based on individual preference. You cannot season to please others and always find that life gives a bad taste in your own mouth. Being well seasoned every season of your life requires understanding of yourself, what season you are within and the options that you have to spice it up.

Psychologists help individuals to analyze themselves and problem-solve so that they can make good choices. They don't choose the seasoning or the amount but they definitely help you to create a pleasing and unique flavour for your life. Bon apetit!

How a Schwinn Airdyne Bike Compares With a Recumbent

Program To Make Music :

There are advantages to riding a simple heavyweight dual action Schwinn Airdyne bike. But after the bike has kept the same design for about thirty years, it can stand some comparison to popular recumbent bikes. Here are 5 ways to compare the two types of bikes before you choose one over the other.

How a Schwinn Airdyne Bike Compares With a Recumbent

1. Quiet or noise?

Air dyne bikes make a great deal of noise. It's because the resistance that you oppose as you pedal comes form turning a big fan blade. All that blade noise keeps up quite a racket. In contrast most all recumbent drives use a magnet system to generate resistance. That approach is all but silent. That means with a recumbent one can listen to music, watch movies or anything else that requires quiet. With an Airdyne few noises will top the fan noise.

2. With or without electronic power?

One way to fight boredom that comes with pedaling is available with computer power. Programmable workout routines are possible because of the electronic drives on virtually all recumbent bikes. Vary the programs and you get workouts that vary just as you would riding on the road. That means you can regularly ride different virtual routes and keep workouts fun and interesting. The Airdyne lacks computer power since it isn't possible to control that big resistance fan except by manually changing the way you pedal.

3. How do you handle breezes?

Part of the comfort of recumbent bikes is the quiet and calm. Exercise in a calm, quiet environment. In contrast, the faster you pedal a dual action bike, the more frantic the wind and noise become. That's a welcome feel in warm weather, a balmy breeze, but it could be somewhat irritating as well.

4. Isn't it nice to get something new?

Recumbent bikes generally receive high marks for reliability. However, electronics can fail and the systems are very expensive to repair if that happens. In contrast a Schwinn Airdyne is just abut as bullet-proof as anything that moves. There really are few pieces prone to fail and thus the thing should last for as long as you wan to pedal it, maybe longer. That means you can't use any really good excuses to get another one.

5. Emphasis on legs?

Recumbent bikes mostly work legs. That means the larger muscles get most of the work. That's a great way to fitness, to work mostly the larger muscles. Also in most cases, most people would agree that's where their "problem" areas are. With the Schwinn, you can just work the lower parts, but it's less convenient. To keep your balance easily, the arms just about have to go along for the ride at least.

A Schwinn Airdyne Bike comes as rugged, heavyweight machine that excels in overall body workouts. It is a simple machine built to last and likely will be the last exercise machine you really need. However, it lags badly the more modern recumbent bikes when it comes to features and comfort. The best bike for you may depend on several factors.

Foreclosure Foul-Ups Further Delay Recovery

Program To Make Music :

The root of the mortgage crisis is the fact that millions of Americans bought homes they could not afford.

Foreclosure Foul-Ups Further Delay Recovery

To put the crisis behind us, we have to get those people into homes they can afford, either to buy or to rent. In many cases, this means we must allow their former homes to go to those with bigger budgets. The sooner we accept this inescapable fact, the sooner our economy will escape the gravitational pull of housing's black hole.

But the Obama administration and others have done all they can to stave off foreclosures, slowing the necessary game of homeowner musical chairs. Efforts like the 2009 Home Affordable Modification Program have focused on keeping homeowners with underwater mortgages in their present homes, rather than encouraging a cycle of buying and selling that could bring housing prices to a sustainable and healthy level. These efforts have all been more or less unmitigated failures.

Now desperate homeowners, their lawyers, and politicians - who are eager to please - have found yet another way to stop the wheels of change from turning.

While processing an overwhelming number of foreclosures in the past few years, many major lenders cut corners on paperwork. Bank employees have admitted signing documents they never read. Other documents that should have been signed in the presence of a notary public apparently were not. In some cases, gaps in the paper trail left it unclear who actually owned a particular loan at a given time, meaning banks may have foreclosed on houses without actually having the standing to do so.

These lapses are troubling, and in many ways inexcusable, but in most cases there is no dispute over whether borrowers have been making payments. Sooner or later, most of those homeowners are going to have to part with their property.

At the moment, it looks like this will be later rather than sooner. All 50 states have launched investigations into the mortgage snafus. The government-sponsored agencies Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac have been dragged into the mess via the securities they manufactured out of shoddily documented (and even more shoddily underwritten) loans. Fearing lawsuits from regulators and displaced homeowners, key lenders have agreed to put foreclosures on hold until the paperwork issues can be sorted out.

JPMorgan Chase & Co., Ally Financial's GMAC Mortgage unit and PNC Financial have implemented freezes only in some states, while Bank of America Corp. has halted foreclosures nationwide.

This freeze in foreclosures is casting a chill over the entire housing market. Some would-be buyers have even had houses snatched out from under them after real estate agents were instructed not to sell properties that were previously foreclosed. One Florida man profiled in The New York Times was trying to move from a house he could no longer afford to a smaller one he could afford. This is exactly what needs to happen to get the housing market back on track. But the house he was planning to buy was a foreclosed property, and, before he could close, it was pulled off the market.

Analysts do not believe the effects of the freeze will be long-lasting.(1) But even if the impact is only short-term, it still pushes back the date when we can finally say that the housing market has returned to normal. The uproar has also created a heightened sense of uncertainty, prompting potential homebuyers to rethink entering the fray.

Sooner or later, to get the housing crisis behind us, we are going to have to face up to the fact that not everyone who wants to stay put will be able to do so. Delaying the inevitable, by passing misguided legislation or by overreacting to banks' problematic documentation, does nothing to help us move forward.

The foreclosure freeze may give some homeowners a bit of extra time in their soon-to-be-former domiciles, but in the end, we all lose as we put off a reckoning that only gets worse for the delay.

What We Know: Windows 8

Program To Make Music :

Throughout this year and the tail end of last, rumors have occasionally leaked about supposed features from Windows 8 (or Midori, depending on who you talk to). These can get pretty hard to keep track of, so I've decided to compile them in a single article for your reading pleasure.

What We Know: Windows 8

Windows 8 will come out in 2012.

One of the first rumors about 8 leaked late year in the form of an allegedly official product roadmap from Microsoft. The image contained release dates going all the way back to 2003, and all the way forward to a major release in "~2012″. The product in question? Windows 8, of course.

I would take this date with a grain of salt; if Microsoft's employees are to be believed, 8 may be too big of a release to be completed in a measly three years. One employee said this summer that 8 was "completely different" and would "change the way we use computers". If that's true, I find it a little hard to believe that they'd be ready to release it in just three years after 7. I could be wrong, of course, but don't invest too heavily in this one.

Windows 8 will support 128-bit processors.

This rumor is just ridiculous given how far forward 64-bit processors extend; the interface can support up to 4 petabytes (about 4 million gigabytes) of RAM. As a point of reference, the typical -0 desktop computer at Best Buy has 4-8GB RAM. We're nowhere near needing support for that much memory, and we won't be for a decade or three. It's silly to think Microsoft would implement 128-bit support this early in the game.

Windows 8 will run on ARM processors.

This is definitely plausible. Earlier this year, Microsoft bought an ARM license that allows them to develop software (or hardware) for ARM-based chips. Early speculators thought this could mean a Microsoft-branded Windows Phone or possibly a Zune HD refresh; new rumors from The Wall Street Journal suggest that the software giant could be porting a full-fledged version of Windows 7 (and 8) to run on ARM processors. The fact that Microsoft is gearing Windows 8 toward tablets lends even more credence to this rumor.

Windows 8 will be built for tablets.

This one isn't a rumor, per se. Steve Ballmer said that tablets will continue to use Windows as their primary OS. Tablets are exactly why Microsoft needs to release 8 as soon as possible; with the iPad threatening to begin eating at their bottom line, they need to put out an OS that can seriously contend with Apple's 'Pad (no, 7 doesn't count).

PowerPoints leaked this summer also reported there would be several form factors 8 would be geared toward, tablets being among them. A more recent rumor also said the OS would include an intuitive new 3D interface for 64-bit versions of Windows. This could be the interface for the tablet version, but it seems odd that a tablet would need a 64-bit OS.

Windows 8 will be faster than 7.

Now here's a rumor we can sink our teeth into. In early 2010 Microsoft Careers posted a job listing for a design engineer that could help them "make future releases of Windows faster, smaller, and more responsive than Windows 7." This is a particularly exciting rumor, but a very understandable one-not only because people just love performance, but also because tablets are such a massive focus for Microsoft right now.

Another slide leaked a few months later also mentioned that Windows 8 would continue where 7 left off in terms of boot time, shutdown time, and battery life. They also want to improve the time it takes to get to your home page, or to receive your first email. These things are important to both consumers and enterprise users, so it makes sense that they would include this in their plans.

Another feature that could boost 8′s performance (or the illusion thereof ) can be found in a patent Microsoft recently applied for called "Direct Experience Platform". Essentially, this would allow the user to circumvent the process of booting into Windows and take them directly into some sort of media environment (see: iTunes, Zune).

If Microsoft can release an OS that's as revolutionary and different as its employees suggest while maintaining performance and battery life, they could have a massive success on their hands.

Windows 8 will include "PC My Way".

"PC My Way" is a technology Microsoft hopes to include in 8 that would make using a computer much more convenient. There were two scenarios mentioned in the PowerPoint; the first showed a gaming session in which the player was interrupted, and the second detailed someone reading an online magazine or newspaper.

In the first scene, the player left the computer without pausing the game (strange, eh?). Instead of Windows letting the zombies (or aliens, or whatever) ruin that person's gaming experience, it paused the game without any user intervention. That's pretty cool.

The second scene wasn't as action-y. Basically, Microsoft just outlined that Windows could activate different features depending on what kind of program the user was interacting with. This only makes sense since they're aiming to put 8 on so many different form factors and devices. Computers will finally start to adapt to us if they can pull this off.

Windows 8 will support facial recognition and new forms of logging in.

This one is plausible, especially given the recent launch of the Kinect. The rumor began after a set of slides detailing a few new features planned for 8 was leaked. In it, there was some interesting new features like cloud backups of application settings. Of course, some of the most evident for the end users would be facial recognition and proximity login; in other words, using the webcam (or a Kinect-style peripheral) to login using facial features.

There was also a slide detailing another style of logging in-proximity sensors. Basically, the slide showed how a person's PC would wake up or turn on whenever they entered the room or got close to the computer. The slide also called out infrared sensors-the same kind used to judge distance on the Kinect. It only makes sense that Microsoft would try to push Kinect beyond just the Xbox; after all, modders have already shown how powerful of a tool it can be.

Regardless of what kind of peripheral it ends up using, this would be a really helpful and (dare I say it?) fun feature.

Windows 8 settings will follow you.

One of the more interesting and useful rumors about Windows 8 details methods that settings could follow users around. Not only would the operating system's preferences be synced, but Microsoft wants to allow programs and media to be able to be synced as well.

Mary-Jo Foley also found evidence that apparently showed "desktop as a service" being included in 8. Essentially, that means that applications, settings, and user data would all be able to follow you between devices, regardless of where they were installed first.

The media part of the leak is the most interesting to me, though. In addition to having movies and music sync across multiple devices, they also want to save your place in moves as well. That would be a really great feature for on-the-go people, and would be incredibly convenient for anybody with multiple devices. This is definitely something Microsoft could push along with the rest of the cloud integration they seem to planning for the OS' launch.

Windows 8 will make it easier to fix problems.

According to the same leaked slides mentioned in the last rumor, Windows 8 will include better way to reset Windows to the way it came on your computer. As of now, that's not a very easy thing to do, and it's definitely not something end-users are comfortable doing. This isn't a very interesting rumor until you get to the heart of it; resetting your computer will save all your personal files, settings, and programs. Wow. That would certainly be a welcome change from the current method of resetting Windows.

Windows 8 will be cloudy.

Leaks from RumorPedia indicate that Microsoft is going to start to take the cloud seriously with the release of Windows 8; serious enough that they may even integrate the kernel with files from the cloud. This is interesting, because it would allow Windows to install critical updates and update core files without the need for the user to reboot their computer. It would also allow Microsoft to track and find pirated copy of the OS more easily, something that would be a win-win for everyone.

Another job listing also indicated that the company may offer backups for users' systems in the cloud. This would apparently be tightly linked to their enterprise-level Azure system. I'm not so sure about backups in the cloud given how much people store on their systems, but there's also the possibility that this is one of the methods Microsoft will employ to allow the resert-to-factory feature I mentioned earlier.

As you can see, Microsoft is gearing Windows 8 to be a major and revolutionary release, and judging from the leaks, it may just change the way we use computers.

Program To Make Music :

What do learning Chinese and pulling teeth have in common? Without the right tools it can be one heck of a long and painful process. Learning Chinese is something that many people wish they could do, but shudder at the thought of the steep learning curve.

What Do Learning Chinese and Pulling Teeth Have in Common?

Unlike many popular foreign languages, learning Chinese is a two part process - not only do you need to learn the actual words themselves, you also need to learn the Chinese characters as well.

I know from experience just how frustrating this is initially. But as with learning any foreign language, there are a few key factors that will have a direct bearing on your success:

1. Good instruction
2. Regular practice
3. Regular exposure

To learn a foreign language, good instruction is essential. All languages have their fair share of slang and improper usage, so its best to begin with a quality program so you don't pick up mistakes along the way.

A good program to learn Chinese, or any other language for that matter, should include the use of additional materials and tools such as flash cards, videos, audio recordings, discs, printed material and forum support. These tools will allow you to engage your senses in multiple ways - ie. reading, hearing, speaking, etc - which is proven to speed progress and enhance retention, and contribute to good instruction.

Practice makes perfect, as the saying goes. A language like Chinese can often be difficult for people to master if they choose not to practice regularly. What you pick up in a lesson will quickly lost with it. This is another reason why you want to make sure your chosen program to teach you Chinese will offer sufficient opportunity to practice, even if you are not able to access a computer.

Having audio files that you can download to your mp4 player will give you the freedom to practice while you are on the go. Many people use their commuting time for this, or even when out walking the dog. It might sound a bit funny to passer-bys, but hey - who cares! You might walk past someone who speaks the language and strike up a new friendship at the same time!

This leads right into the third point which is regular exposure. By having audio files that you can listen to at any time you are regularly hearing the different sounds and pronunciation will become much easier, the more familiar the sounds become. If you are really serious about learning Chinese, it might even help to download some free Chinese music. The more you expose yourself to your new language, the quicker you will learn.

10 Ways To Be a Terrific Parent!

Program To Make Music :

Every parent's hope and desire for their child is for him or her to be happy and successful in life. However, the reality is that despite the good intentions of parents, many of today's children are being neglected and not properly lead that will put them on that path to success. When there is no direction and no program in place, both the parent and child are left wandering aimlessly through a jungle of unknowns that often leads to misery and disaster.

10 Ways To Be a Terrific Parent!

Below is a road map that will give you hope and direction if you follow the guidelines set forth. It will help you to be not just a good parent but a terrific parent! Use it, apply it, and watch what happens. You will begin to see yourself in a different light and feel better about your parenting abilities.

So let's get you on the right road!

1. Have a discipline system in place and stick with it.

Whether or not children will admit to it, they desire discipline but more importantly direction on how to behave properly. When there is a lack of rules and inconsistency to enforce the rules, children quickly become confused as do the parents. This causes a lot of unnecessary frustration and tension that can easily be solved in two simple steps: One, have a simple system in place that clearly identifies the rules and consequences; and two, be consistent in enforcing the rules. It is important that both the child and parent understand how the system works and how it can benefit both.

When a parent neglects to consistently enforce the rules and carry out the system, he or she sets up false hopes and expectations that don't carry any value behind it. The child quickly learns that the system is weak, is not executed properly, and therefore begins to exploit those weak gaps. The child also learns how to manipulate to their advantage the inconsistency of both the system and parent and therefore gains more power over the parent. Meanwhile, the parent can't understand why they are losing the discipline battle with their child and becomes more frustrated and stressed out.

Whatever discipline system you create, make sure it is fair and that you firmly carry it out. Never give in or waiver from it and always be consistent. Once the child and parent understand the rules of the system and how to play by it, there will be less confusion, anxiety, and better communication. You will soon discover that your child's attitude and behavior will quickly turn around and your relationship with him or her will be happier and healthier.

2. Get Involved and Often.

It's been said that the greatest investment a parent can ever make in their child's life is spending quality time with them. When you are a part-time parent you get a part-time child. If you only put in 50 percent, you only get out 50 percent. If you want a strong and lasting relationship with your child, you have to be willing to make personal sacrifices and put in the time and effort with your child. It doesn't matter what you do as long as you do it together. Again, it's about the quality of time you spend together, not the quantity of activities.

Growing up, I played a lot of sports. The one thing I hated more that anything else was sitting on the bench and watching others in the heat of battle. I wanted more than anything to be in the middle of it all and when I wasn't it tore me up inside. No one likes to sit on the bench or "ride the pine" because it's lonely and boring. Everyone wants a piece of the action and maybe if their lucky enough, be the hero. When you sit on the bench as a parent, you miss out on some of the most precious moments of your child's life. Moments that you can never get back and ones that may never come again. Don't be a spectator parent. Get off the bench and into the middle of the fray. You'll be glad you did and so will your child.

When at all possible, try to be there for as many activities for your child as you can. And not just show up as I mentioned. Get involved by actively participating. My two oldest boys play baseball and so that I could spend more time with them, I help coach their little league team. It is a blast helping kids learn the great game of baseball but more importantly, I get to be directly involved in my children's lives while teaching and leading them. I know it makes a big difference to my boys when I am there cheering them on and supporting them at the field level. Even though they may not say it or fully appreciate me being there with them, I see it when my boys smile and high-five me once they round third. It is at that moment when I realize that this is where I need to be.

3. Set and Be a Great Example.

The role model that will have the greatest impact and influence on your child for either good or bad in their lifetime is you - the parent. For girls, that parent is the mother and for the boys, the father. That's not to say that both parents don't have a great influence on their child because they do, but studies have shown that same sex gender plays a greater role in how that child is influenced based upon the sex of that child. And from a logical stand point, that makes perfect sense. Females understand females better than a male and vice-versa and for obvious reasons. Nonetheless, both parents need to set and be a great example for their child.

When children are brought into this world, they learn from their parents and siblings within the home how to walk, speak, think, behave and acquire new knowledge and understanding. As time goes on and that child gets older, they begin to learn from others outside of their home environment. That's when they begin to simulate into society and learn new attitudes, feelings, and behaviors. Their mind and body are trying to formulate all this new knowledge and conceptualize how this information will be processed. In short, they are trying to find their identity and where they fit in the scheme of it all. It can be a very daunting and challenging task.

That's why it is so critical that your child gets off on the right foot to be better prepared and handle the difficult challenges that await him or her. You as a parent have a tremendous responsibility and duty to ensure that when your child leaves home on their own that they stand a fighting chance of surviving and thriving in a completely new environment that will shape who they are and who they will become. But before society teaches them, you have the distinct advantage to nurture and mold them into success so that when the gale force winds of life attack, their foundation will be strong enough to withstand it.

By setting a positive example right from the get-go, your child will know what pattern of behavior to follow. They will quickly learn what they should and should not do based on effective discipline. They will lean what is acceptable and is not acceptable based on your teachings.

The old saying, "Monkey see monkey do" is so applicable to parenting because children do exactly what their parents do. So, set the correct example from the beginning and then practice what you preach thereafter. Refuse to be the kind of parent who says, "Don't watch what I'm doing, only listen to what I say." What? Not only is that confusing but that's poor teaching. In essence, you are saying to your child, "Only learn the good and not the bad from me." I'm sorry but it doesn't work that way. You have to teach your child the good from the bad and then model the correct behavior in what is appropriate. When you do so, your child will understand much easier and quicker the next time he or she encounters a similar situation and know exactly what he or she must do to be successful.

4. Listen More, Talk Less.

Nobody likes to hear other people talk, especially when they drone on about themselves or have to hear an ear full for something they did wrong. Instead, take the more effective route and listen rather than talk. The rule of thumb is in any conversation, listen 80 percent and talk only 20 percent of the time. That can be especially tough for a parent since we always want to teach but here's the lesson: you can do more good by listening then you can by talking.

Stephen R. Covey coined the phrase: "Seek first to understand, then to be understood." If you want people to really "hear" or understand you, you must first listen to them. Allow them to share their thoughts and feelings without interruption. In most cases when you do, you learn a few things:

1. You tend to be less judgmental

2. You become less selfish because you're not trying to impose your will

3. You learn that most people figure the answer out themselves

4. You gather more insight and information from that person's point of view that you would otherwise

5. You become more sympathetic and learn patience

6. You build trust and respect

7. You are open to other alternatives or solutions that are not possible if you are the one dominating the conversation

Through the act of listening, you gain a better perspective of the whole scenario and can more clearly communicate your thoughts that best connect with the receiver. So the next time you go to talk, don't. Listen, learn, and then listen some more.

5. Be Gentle yet Firm.

It's always a fine balance of having just the right amount of gentleness mixed with firmness. There are times when you need to be firm, especially when it comes to rules and reprimand but there are also times when you must be gentle and offer a warm hug and comforting words.

There is a time and place for everything and you will have to learn when the right time is to use either or both simultaneously. When you are firm, be consistent and don't waiver from it. Don't be afraid to be so as well as be afraid of how your child will react. Do not be belligerent, overbearing, or intimidating. Not only is this bullying and abusive but manipulative. You will never win any battle by behaving in this manner. Instead, be calm, think calmly, and speak calmly. If need be, step back from the situation, collect your thoughts, regain your composure, and try again. Never act out in aggression or have emotion involved. Always defuse the situation by first removing emotion or yourself from the equation. When you do, reasonable heads will prevail and a solution will be reached sooner with little to no damage.

6. One-On-One Time is Gold.

Everyone wants to feel valued and feel like they are the only ones in the world. This is so true particularly with children. When a parent goes out of their way to make their child feel like they are a king or queen and show it through actions and not just words alone, that is worth more than all the riches in the world and 10 trips to Disney land.

If you ask your child what their fondest memory is as a family or with you, they won't necessarily say the time we went to so- and- so but will say the time you spent with him or her listening, teaching, and helping them. He or she will remember the camping trips and how you taught them to chop wood or set up a tent or the campfire songs. He or she will remember you teaching them how to throw a curve ball or a spiral or the time you took off work to be at their music recital or ballet. He or she will remember you staying up late and helping them with math or a science project that's due the next morning. Those are the small big moments that last and make a difference. Those are the golden moments that define who you are as a parent and what kind of parent your child will be. Look and focus on the gold mine and you will reap bountifully.

7. Love and Lift Always.

Children crave attention and in particular their parent's attention. Even as adults, we want to always please our parent's and make them proud of us. By virtue of being born, everyone should automatically be loved without strings attached. Love is the single greatest power that can literally change lives.

Over the years, there have been numerous psychology studies on the effect that love has on a newborn. What psychologists learned is that babies, who were coddled, loved, given a lot of affection and tension from an early age grew up "normal" with little to know side effects. In contrast, babies who were given less coddling, attention, and affection developed severe mental, psychological, and social issues. And in rare cases, a few of the babies literally died of a broken heart.

Without love, there is no life. And when we withhold our love from our children or make it conditional, we are slowing killing the life out of those precious individuals. Always give and receive of your love freely and let it grow in your children. Love has and always will endure forever.

One of the primary characteristics of love is support. When we love others, we should lift them as well. We should never belittle or put others down, especially our children. If we want to lift someone up we have to be standing on higher ground. Much like lifting someone out of a ditch, we can't if they are leveled or below us.

To lift up our children, we should always say kind and encouraging words that are genuine. Phrases such as, "You're a great kid!" or "I'm proud of you!" or "I knew you could do it!" are simple yet powerful ways to build self-confidence and self-esteem in a child or adolescent struggling emotionally to survive. Always build up your children and never tear them down.

8. Be Forgiving and Less Critical.

It is so easy to "fly of the handle" by yelling and screaming then it is by using self-restraint and mannerisms. How many of us have been guilty (far too often I imagine) of tearing a strip off our child in the heat of the moment only to feel guilt and remorse afterwards? The sad thing is that in most cases, the incident that your child was involved in was insignificant but yet, as a parent, we want to "teach our child a lesson" and to "get our point across" so that he or she will never do it again. So what do you do? You holler in a loud voice and threaten the child with severe punishment hoping to scare fear into him or her so that they will never do it again. Guess what? The chances of them repeating that same act or behaving in a similar manner are great. Why? Because we as humans don't learn things just once. Otherwise, we would all be virtuosos and be fluent in 10 languages. Years later, the kid may not remember what exactly he did but he will remember how his Mom or Dad reacted and the feelings he felt as a result. As humans, we tend to forget certain events but rarely do we forget feelings.

I recall a story someone told me years ago that stuck in my head. He said, "If you want to teach a child not to touch the stove, put his or her hand on the stove and see what happens. I guarantee he or she will never touch the stove again."

I said to him, "How do you know this?"

He responded, "You see this scar (pointing to his hand). My Dad did that to me when I was a kid and I have never forgotten it."

I'm sorry but I don't need to "touch the stove" to know that it will burn me if I do. Just like I don't need to walk on the moon to know that it exists. I can learn from other people's mistakes and more importantly, from correct principles and teachings then by actually participating.

As a parent, you need to be less critical and more forgiving. You make mistakes as well and so why do you expect your child to be perfect? After all, they too are learning and trying to create their own identity and part of that learning comes through trial and error. That is a good thing, not bad. So don't belittle him or her for learning and not always knowing what the right thing is that he or she should do. Be patience, be supportive, and see these opportunities as teaching moments to expound the correct methods of carrying out an activity.

9. Be There.

One of my biggest pet peeves in life is people who say that will do something and then don't. Where I come from, we call it integrity - something that has been forgotten over the years.

Not too long ago, we needed our roof repaired. My wife and I had called around to a dozen roofing companies leaving voice mail and email messages. Only two out of the twelve actually called us back and of those two, one of them didn't email me until eight days later. If you have ever tried to hire tradespeople, you know what I am talking about.

So, we finally tracked down what seemed like the only roofing company in town and after pleading and prodding for them to come, they did after three weeks of our initial call. By then, the monsoons had come and were causing considerable damage to our home. When they showed up to our home, one of the tradesmen got his ladder out, climbed on top of the roof, went from one end to the other and then came back down and said, "Yep, it's damaged, we'll have to fix it." He then said, "We'll be back."

Oh he came back alright, four weeks later! And when he did, he only did a partial job and then left again. These shenanigans continued on for weeks. I wanted desperately to fire him but I had no one else who would come and the roof needed to be fixed. After being polite and patient the first few times (I didn't want to tick him off and have him leave for good) I finally had enough. I called him up and left a terse message. I even wrote him a flaming email that got his attention. Sure enough, he came the next day and finished the job. In the end, we got our roof completed. What should have only taken a day, took over ten long and painful weeks. When you say you are going to be there or do something, do it. Don't lie and don't procrastinate. If you can't do it, then be honest enough to say so and don't commit to it. And if you do commit to something and a situation arises, have the decency to let the other person know. They will understand and forgive you. Don't leave them hanging and coward off. It makes you look bad and puts a black mark on your good family name.

When you tell your child you will be there for his or her school play or sporting event or pick them up from work, be there! If you don't, your child quickly learns that your word doesn't mean anything and three things happen: one, your child loses trust and confidence in you; two, your child internalizes your "mishap" or "lie" as them not being important enough for you to be there; and three; your child learns from your poor example and pretty soon, guess what starts to happen? Instead of your child coming home on time, he or she begins to come home later and later and uses the excuse, "I forgot" or "I was busy." Hum... does this sound familiar? It should. You taught them this, remember? And you didn't even realize it! Be there and your kids will be there for you.

10. Teach and Lead.

Every single day presents new learning opportunities, not only for you as a parent but for your child. Always seek to teach and lead whether the situation is good or bad. As parents, we are quick to point out the bad and teach the right but seldom to we praise the good moments and reinforce good decisions that are children make.

As a parent, learn to have faith and trust in your child. Allow them to make mistakes and to learn on their own from those mistakes. Guide your children through situations and have them discover for themselves what the correct choices or decisions they should have made. Point out to your child what would have happened had they made a better choice or decision so that they can visualize the outcome at their own level.

As you teach, always remember to lead. Lead by example and through encouragement. Learn to walk-the-walk and talk-the -talk. Children would much rather follow your actions and behaviours than what you say. Talk is cheap but actions speak volume. Lead by good example and your children will follow the leader. Lead by bad example and your children will still follow the leader.

Always be thinking, "How can I better lead my children and be a better parent?" In most cases, your children will teach you without you even knowing it. The secret is to listen and observe, ask questions and take genuine interest in them and their lives. When you do so, you will grow as a parent and as a leader and so will your children. Learn from each other and you will learn to be better.

Why The Secret Won't Make You Rich Or Happy

Program To Make Music :

If you've been into personal development but have not heard of The "Secret", then you might probably have never heard of the Internet. But then, what are you doing reading this article right now? The "Secret" has enjoyed phenomenal success as a movie and a book, and I am sure millions of people around the world have been affected by it in one way or another.

Why The Secret Won't Make You Rich Or Happy

Yet the question begs, why have we not seen more people becoming rich as a direct result of The Secret? Is it because it's just another one of those "feel good but nothing changes" inspirational movies? All fluff and filler, no useful, practical content?

Hasn't the 3 step process described in The "Secret" been utilized in one form or another by billions of people already, all throughout history? So why exactly has the world not seen a history of consistent human happiness, fulfillment and prosperity? Is it because The Secret doesn't 'work'?

Wait. Before you think I am one of those The "Secret" or "Law of Attraction" bashers, I urge you to wait it out and read this article in its entirety to do justice to yourself.

According to the popular definition of the law of attraction, it is that tendency for the Universe to reflect in your reality what is going on in your innermost mind. That's basically the gist of it. But what's missing from this popular definition is the observer factor, the human factor, that is us.

Most of us who have watched The Secret take this popular definition of the law of attraction at face value and try to put it into effect by simply starting to think positive thoughts, struggling to block out our conditioned negative mental patterns and begin fantasizing about what we have always been secretly desiring - that new car, the beautiful home, that drop-dead gorgeous lover, a swimming pool filled with money, etc.

Some of us also go out collecting pretty pictures of what we want, cut them out and paste them into our scrapbooks of manifestation. This technique has been called the Treasure Map, also known as the Vision Board. It is a tool to help us better visualize what we want. Then to add even more power to our visualization process, some of us purchase one of those brainwave entrainment programs or special music that helps us visualize better and get into the perfect state of mind for manifestation.

That is all well and good, but a huge portion of us then get disappointed when days, weeks, months or even years later of visualizing and affirming every day, we don't get what we want. That new car, beautiful home, dream lover and a swimming pool filled with money still elude us to this day. Then we cry out, "What is wrong with the Universe?!".

Truth is, there is nothing wrong with the universe, with the world, with the human race, not even with you. Yes, you read that correctly. There is nothing wrong with you either. What is wrong is your understanding of The Secret and how reality functions. What is wrong is the model you have in your mind. There is a missing ingredient in your understanding. A piece that is missing, preventing you from having a complete model.

What is it?

That missing piece is you. Read the previous statement again. It might seem like a tautology, but if you take it another way, it makes absolutely complete sense. The missing piece is you.

You are the missing ingredient in your understanding of The Secret. You are the missing piece in your model of the law of attraction. Why? Do you want to know the truth? I can safely bet that no other law of attraction guru or teacher of The Secret has ever said this before. What comes next is going to be so profound yet so simple, you might smack your head and go, "Why haven't I thought of that before?".

Here it is. The truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth behind The Secret -

You are the "Law of Attraction". "The Law of Attraction" is you.

Rub your eyes gently, blink a little and read the above statement again. This time, translate that sentence into the first person and apply it to yourself -

I am the "Law of Attraction". The "Law of Attraction" is I.

Is it clearer now? Do you see the beauty? All this while, The "Secret" guru's are trying to sell you the idea that the law is some separate process operating independently of you, a law that is separate yet governs the working of the universe.

When you know the truth, that the law of attraction and you (or me or us) are one, you gain newfound power in that understanding. You won't immediately find yourself able to materialize any physical object you desire into reality, that would still be absurd and impossible unless we have come to the level of nanotechnology that makes it possible.

But you'll comprehend that now you know you are the law of attraction, that you are the embodiment, the avatar (in a sense) of the law of attraction, it is your responsibility to act in accordance, in coherence, with your intrinsic quality of attraction.

Attraction is a 10-letter word but its essence lies in the last 6 letters of that word, which is action. Attr-action. You can't have "attraction" without "action".

But who does the acting? You do. Who attracts? You do. Therefore, my simple formula states that you must act to attract. If you don't act, there is no attracting. Because if you refuse to act, you are limiting your own potential. If you don't act, you are the very obstruction that is preventing the law of attraction (which equals you) from working. Then don't blame the law of attraction for 'not working' when you don't get what you want. Blame yourself.

Drop the Pounds Safely!

Program To Make Music :

"Consistency is the key to victory." - Joyce Meyer

Drop the Pounds Safely!

Many people want to know the quickest ways to remove a certain amount of pounds from the body frame. This process will not be an easy or quick one - the weight was not put on overnight and will not come off that quickly. Dropping weight will take persistence and patience, but it can definitely be done. It took me ten months, working out with my DVD six days a week and learning how to eat better every day, to reach my goal weight. Believe me, there were days that I told myself that it wasn't worth all this. There were days I fell victim to my sweet tooth and ate a piece of cake and ice cream or enjoyed a Krispy Kreme doughnut. However, on the days that I ate better and worked out, I know that I possessed more energy, slept better, and felt changes happening inside of my body before actually seeing changes on the outside.

So, how do you drop the pounds safely?

1) Figure out how much weight you want to remove and write it down. Make sure that you write down specific numbers. If you can lose at least 10% of your body weight, you will reduce your risk of many diseases like heart disease and diabetes, and lessen the chances that you will have a stroke or heart attack. Take your weight and divide it by 10 to find out how much weight this is for you. Write this number down somewhere that you can see it every day. One of my friends wrote his weight loss goal number on a white board in his workout area in the garage. Another lady took things to the next level and placed her number on her refrigerator, bathroom mirror, bedroom mirror, and on the door leading out to her car in the garage.

2) Set a weekly goal of 1 - 2 pounds weight loss. To lose one pound in a week, you will have to remove 3500 calories either by working out or by eating less. That's 500 calories at the least you would have to remove each day between your workouts and your nutrition. You can sweat those calories off by walking during your day, doing your fitness program that you purchased, swimming in the pool, playing kickball or frisbee outside with the family, using weights or resistance bands to define your muscles, setting a timer for 2 - 5 minutes and doing pushups, squats, lunges, or jumping jacks, riding a bike around the block or in the park, dancing around the house to some upbeat music...the possibilities are endless. You can also cut back on calories by decreasing your intake of fried foods, white flour/white sugar/white pasta products, and processed meals, increasing your intake of high density, lower calorie foods like vegetables and fruits, and healthy whole grains like oatmeal, brown rice, quinoa, and whole wheat breads/pastas, and drinking water instead of sugary sodas or sweet tea.

3) Use online resources to keep yourself on track. There are some excellent resources available to you online, both free and paid. An important thing to remember is to find a resource where you can enter your fitness goals and daily progress, enter your nutrition goals and count daily calories, and to share your activities and your emotions with other like-minded people. Keep a folder in your browser favorites with fitness and nutrition tips and tools, favorite weight loss blogs or forums, and inspirational articles to motivate you to stay focused on your fitness and nutrition goals. For many people, having this information is critical in assisting them drop the pounds.

4) Do NOT weigh yourself more than once a week! Weight fluctuates up and down during the week, so weighing every day can cause you to become discouraged if you have gained several ounces or you have lost nothing at all. Once a week in the mornings is a great time to weigh in. I usually weigh in on Mondays after my shower and before I have breakfast. If you get this done first thing, then you will not have to worry about being too busy to check. Some fitness programs have you weigh in once a month to see your progress every 30 days and this can really motivate you to continue. Take the goal number that you wrote down in #1 and scratch a line through it, then subtract what you have lost from that number and write down this new goal number for yourself. Each week, you will reduce your goal number and soon you will be at 0!!

5) Never give up on yourself! Everyone's body is different and it is not effective to get frustrated when results do not come as fast as someone else. It took me ten months to do it. Person X may have reached their goal weight in three months, and person Y may have taken over a year and a half to drop the pounds. It's okay - REALLY! If I (or person Y) had gotten upset that we did not lose our weight as quick as person X, then we would not see any type of results. Neither of us would be successful. Honestly thinking about it, I probably would be worse - on multiple medications that I could not afford and tiring out after simple tasks. You have to think about YOUR GOAL, focus on YOUR ACTIONS, celebrate YOUR RESULTS, and then challenge yourself all over again! Also, please don't beat yourself up over mistakes or days when you don't get a chance to work out or eat healthy foods. If God blesses you with another day, then you can start fresh on your goals.

Will you do me a favor? Take 15 minutes and think about where you may end up if you do not lose the pounds. Think about how it will affect you, your family members, your finances, and that secret "bucket list" in your journal (yes, I know you have one - I have one too!). I really want you to feel the pain that you could possibly experience if you DON'T achieve your goal.

Now, does the pain of NOT doing it help you realize how important your goal is to you and to those who love you? If so, what are you waiting for?

Take action on the tips above - starting today - and CHOOSE TO LIVE HEALTHY!

Some formats will probably necessitate that you download and install software in order to open these files and use them.

PDF sheet music

PDF violin scores are often high quality files that will make beautiful printouts but you will need some sort of PDF software installed to open these files. The most common software is the free Adobe Reader that you can find on Adobe's website. PDF stands for Portable Document Format and is commonly used to present music notes.

At some sites you will find that you are required to subscribe to a newsletter, create a free account or perform some other action before you can printout their PDF sheets. These sites only offer lower quality files without any obligation. However, you will also find sites where PDF files are completely free to use! Violin scores in GIF format

The Graphics Interchange format (GIF) is sometimes used to create sheet music. Originally this bitmap image format was used for color images, logos and animations only but it can also be used to create sheet music often with a lower quality. The advantage is that the file size is small and as long as you can see the violin notes they will of course be useful! Another advantage is that your computer probably does not need additional software to open the files. You can use the search term "gif violin sheet music" to find this type of files.

Stop Bad Ideas From Running Off the Cliff

Program To Make Music :

As a youthful gent of nine or ten years old, I would bounce from slumber at the break of an unused fresh Saturday outfitted in my printed PJs and swing through the kitchen preparing a "Captain Crunch" feast before bearing straightaway towards my morning's mission. Capitalizing on my brother's never-ending zzzs and Mom's weekly programmed chore ritual, I would swiftly lay claim and appropriate that enchanted place my family had christened the "TV Room". My throne embodied a post on the hard floor, cross legged, as close as I could risk without the perpetual admonition of "you're ruining your eyes". Finally! After tortuous weeknights of my parent's "Million Dollar Movie" boredom, I possessed power and mastery over the magnanimous magical machine. I would conduct my colorless, make believe travels enthralled in the lands of heroes and villains. With their nail-biting gunfights, glorious horses, chair -breaking barroom fights and murderous bank robberies, Westerns became the beloved genre for my inaugural immersion into the human condition. And if you wanted to make me jump, splash some of Captain's milk, and smash the daybreak's tranquility with hyperventilating yelps, just start a Stampede.

Stop Bad Ideas From Running Off the Cliff

Out on the prairie, right when all seemed tranquil and noiseless, rustlers up to no-good would infiltrate the herd and scatter the cattle into a panic. In a split second, before you grappled it, the entire herd of cattle was racing over the plains; quaking the very ground I sat on. As the unruly panting mob swung closer to me, kicking up dust and throwing rocks, I could see their blinding determination to run-over everything in their way. As the camera drew back from the crushing hoofs and snorting horns I could see the thundering mass headed for the edge of a cliff where they were certain to meet a bloody mangled ending. Then with a shift in music, the Cowboys would kick into action. And in a flash, the movie's star would appear from nowhere. Thrusting his lurching horse forward with his white hat flapping in the air, the Cowboy would begin gaining speed alongside the runaway herd. With his neck straining forward, he would endeavor to sight the lead renegade bull, and plunge toward that key position right on the herd's shoulder. And as he overtook the reckless followers and met the behemoth eyeball to eyeball, the Cowboy would courageously lean into the rush slowly moving it sideways. Then, with cereal now falling from my mouth, the climactic moment would arrive when the Cowboy discovered himself in front of the herd and on the brink of the cliff ready to plummet to his own peril. But as his steed tumbled rocks into the deep canyon below, the Cowboy would make one last blood and guts challenge and round the herd towards safety.

In business, a Leader is often faced with having to thwart an out of control stampede headed for danger. This business pandemonium usually manifests itself as a runaway idea or reckless emotion which can become uncontrollable once set into motion. As these wild upsurges pick up more and more muck, they elevate a sense of urgency driving energy to a single-minded purpose. A dangerous purpose that is willing to run over anything that gets between it and the edge of the cliff. As a Leader you need to be able to turn a bad idea without forsaking your own safety.

Anger and surprise can be strong initiators of rash calls to action. When confronted with the realization of a major blunder, many managers will look for blood. They fly into a rage almost with nostrils flaring, and demand to know who made this mistake. They want someone to go out there, find out what transpired and come back with someone's head on a platter. "And if it was so-and-so they better be written-up or they better be fired!" Most times the situation is more complex than just one individual. Although it might bring momentary gratification to sacrifice an easy mark, such an oversimplified solution rarely resolves your real dilemmas. But these are not rational moments.

Sometimes the stampede emanates from a group of people with a runaway idea. A ringleader decides to go after some person, some program or some concept because they have decided it no longer works. They quickly enrage the group and generate movement. As a group, they are forceful. They can run full speed and they can run people over in their quest to see that nothing gets in their way. They can easily lose perspective and become unconcerned with collateral damage in pursuit of their personal agenda.

Or perhaps you have seen the stampede that begins of nothing more than pure enthusiasm of a new idea where everyone becomes immediately excited about the possibility of its potential. All of a sudden, everyone wants to start running and making it happen without thoughts, without plans, and without any attention to the consequences or pitfalls the plan may have. They are running wild, kicking up dirt and headed for failure.

As a Leader you need to be able to recognize an out-of-control stampede and develop the skills to turn it around before it drives itself and you to the bottom of nowhere.

Begin by staying alert and understanding that stampedes are concocting all around you. In order to retain your own survival and not be run over, you need to be ready and able to move fast. Once you perceive the initial rumblings, crank your brain into overdrive, get those synapses popping, and your adrenaline pumping. If you do not possess the energy, the speed and the stamina to run with the herd they will run away and you will be watching the catastrophe from the back.

Now remember, if the herd breaks they will have the jump on you; so you have to react quickly. You need to swiftly run alongside of them and gain speed as you out-think them. Their emotion will slow them down; keep your thoughts moving. Stay calm and look for your "shoulder" position. As you reach the eyeball to eyeball position get ready to make your move. Right here is where most managers make a crucial gaffe. They run in front of the herd and standing with their heels on the edge of the cliff, commence waving their hands in the air trying to convince a bad idea to stop in its tracks. As you can imagine, these managers end up on the bottom of some devastating results.

Verbalizing your convictions and pontificating your objections will only put you on the edge of the cliff to be run over. The secret to negotiating the "shoulder position" of an argument is to ask the right questions. It is the right questions that will turn the debate. You only need to "lean in" enough to get the emotion to flinch. From here, you can begin to control and turn the conversation away from those runaway ideas.

So next time your boss wants the head of an important member of your team or you are faced with a run away group, you won't answer that you "don't think they are right" or you "don't think that it is fair". Instead, you'll start by running alongside of them while discussing and agreeing with the problem. You will ensure they understand that you understand the gravity of the situation and their cry for action. Share and engage their emotion while always staying on an intellectual plane, all the while gaining ground and preparing to take another direction. At the right moment you will begin turning the discussion. Start asking questions! Go beyond the immediate rush and explore the after-effects. Open up the perspective of the entire judgment. "Well if we fire Joe, who's there to take over and properly manage the program he's running?" Or, "That is a great idea. With our other commitments, how can we find the time to implement it properly?" Getting a bad idea to stop and think for only a moment about the consequences of stampeding is enough to begin the turn.

As you turn the stampede you will sense the energy drain out of them. They will suffer with a letdown as they realize the goal they were charging so hard for has been diverted. A good leader will bring his run-away herd back into the fold gently. You need to take the fragments that were right and good and direct them back to safety where they can live for another day. Your boss wanted accountability - this is a good thing. And your group wanted to improve a situation - this is a good thing. It is your responsibility to preempt a repeating panic by improving the root causes with a controlled plan that will succeed.

Stampedes are exhilarating and exciting. They are filled with moments of passion and deep convictions. But if you watch the movie in slow motion and look into the eyes of the cattle you will see their conviction and passion are really misled fear and anger. Your job is to be constantly on look out for the possibility of your A-Team stampeding. If they start running, you need to kick it into high gear, run alongside of them, and gain the "shoulder position" with intelligent provoking questions. Demonstrating your ability to stay calm in the face of an impending disaster will build your team's confidence in you and encourage them to run full speed in the right direction next time. They will trust that if they put their passion, energy and drive into the sprint of a project, you will lead them to higher ground.
